With a PhD in childhood sociology, Kate’s career in the government and not-for-profit sectors has focused on collaborating and generating evidence for best practice and advocacy to ensure children in their early years have equitable access to the learning, development, and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.
Prior to her new role at AEIOU, Kate successfully established Goodstart Early Learning as a credible research partner, securing multiple Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grants, partnership in two ARC Centres of Excellence, and co-designing several major collaborative projects with high-performance teams. These initiatives leveraged her knowledge and experience in project management, evaluation and practice excellence in teaching and learning, reflecting her ability to lead, collaborate in and conduct high-quality, impactful research.
Kate will continue to be an industry mentor for PhD students, and currently serves as an Adjunct Industry Fellow with the Queensland Brain Institute having developed strong relationships with key stakeholders in the field of early childhood. These roles underscore her commitment to fostering collaborations with academics, practitioners, and policymakers.
