  • About the role

The Fundraising & Communications Specialist is a motivated, eager and proven communicator with a particular inclination to contribute to the growth and development of Braille House’s philanthropy strategy.   This role will propel the growth of Braille House and help shape initiatives to take this essential organisation into the future.

  • About the Organisation

Braille House was first established in Brisbane 126 years ago in response to need. Today, as the primary provider of tactual literacy for people who are blind or have low vision, the organisation works tirelessly towards it’s mission: To empower people of all ages who are blind or have low vision through alternative formats.

For every 100 books available to sighted individuals, there are only 5 for the blind. Braille books, tactual maps, calendars and a number of support services help those who are blind or have low vision, and also extend to the broader population to raise awareness and to foster inclusion in education environments.

She has an analytical approach to mapping stakeholders to support her strategies, along with planning interactive involvement that builds trust and exceeds expectations. She will welcome any opportunity to utilise her education and extensive experience to inspire and motivate support for Braille House.
