This inspirational not-for-profit is an independent, community-based advocacy and education service with 30 years’ experience in supporting and improving the wellbeing of older people and people with disability.
In this newly created exciting role, reporting to the Manager of Disability & Business Development, you’ll be part of an experienced and multidisciplinary team that will deliver individual and systemic advocacy support to people with disability within a social justice framework. With a strong work history, you can demonstrate leadership and team building, with exceptional stakeholder management skills and a warm, friendly demeanour – also understand the importance of listening and bring an inquisitive investigative mindset to the position.
Demonstrated experience within the disability sector will give you creditability in leading a team of experts in this field, whilst managing a small caseload.
You will bring sound knowledge of disability support programs, systems and sector, including the NDIS, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
With a strong focus on people, it is critical this role is people centric, passionate about impact on community with the ability to influence and bring about change to those members of community who are most vulnerable. You take heart in bringing the best out of people and empowering those around you to be successful and grow.
As a relatively newly established role there will be challenges, and change is part and parcel of growth. Bringing the team on the journey, building connection, your exceptional people skills and relationship building abilities will be at the forefront of your success in this position.
You will need a current driver’s licence, NDIS Screening and Working with Children Blue card, and a current police clearance.
