Highly organised, well experienced Senior Advisor that can hit the ground running to assist with high level assessments and preliminary enquiries. 

  • Temporary A06 position for 6 months with possible extension 
  • Hybrid role that potentially offers a 9-day fortnight  
  • Brisbane CBD 

Make an Impact in this Senior Advisor role (Assessments). This role will suit you if you are highly organised, coupled with strong attention to detail and enjoy working autonomously. The Senior Advisor (Assessments) provides advice and support to employees and senior executives in relation to sensitive conduct matters, Public Interest Disclosures, and other integrity-related functions.  

As Senior Advisor (Assessments), you will: 

  • Conduct high level, complex assessments and preliminary enquiries, in relation to suspected or alleged corrupt conduct, as defined in the Crime and Corruption Act 2001, as well as conduct that falls within the Public Sector Commission’s (PSC) Conduct and Performance Excellence (CaPE) framework. 
  • Identify and prepare referrals to other external law enforcement agencies and other integrity bodies, including the Crime and Corruption Commission, the Queensland Police Service, and the Office of the Public Guardian.  
  • Identify and analyse human rights issues under the Human Rights Act 2019. 
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to managers and supervisors on corruption prevention strategies and incidents involving corrupt conduct and conduct that falls within the PSC CaPE framework. 
  • Actively manage Ethical Standards Group records and cases using the case management system and other relevant systems. 
  • Interpret, apply and effectively implement legislation and other regulatory provisions, particularly those relevant to the assessment of integrity and conduct complaints.  
  • Effectively manage Public Interest Disclosures submitted under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 in accordance with legislation, standards and departmental policies and procedures.  
  • Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  
  • Other duties as directed. 

Key skills & Experience: 

  • You will autonomously manage a case load of high-level assessments and preliminary enquiries with minimal supervision. 
  • You will appropriately handle and assess sensitive and, at times, graphic content during the conduct of assessments and preliminary enquiries. 
  • Qualifications and/or previous experience in law, criminology, investigations, intelligence, correctional services, policing, or another related discipline would be highly regarded. 
  • You understand the impacts of historical and contemporary policy and practices upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You have a demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively, and with humility, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
