In this role, you will be leading and supervising a team of Intake Advocates to support and improve the wellbeing of the organisation’s clients across all service areas through information, support and referral. So, we will be looking at a strong work history where – with minimal supervision – you have proven yourself to be a strong, warm, resilient and responsible people manager, with substantial knowledge and experience in change management.
Accountable for both the wellbeing and the efficacy of your staff, you’ll identify their strengths and work with each Intake Advocate to offer help and provide coaching, guidance and training. You will mentor your team members in all aspects of providing support, care and safety.
As a role model for your team, you’ll lead from the front, champion adherence to the values, conduct and behaviours that are integral to this reputable organisation. Fully committed to its mission, you will do whatever you are able to build its professional capacity and that of the people you lead.
You will be actively involved in training and professional development activities of varying types, all based on contemporary, best practice, evidence-based principles. So, it is hoped that – in addition to tertiary qualifications in human services –you also bring demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop, mentor and supervise staff to foster a cohesive team as well as strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and roadblocks, fostering a solutions-oriented approach that contributes to the overall success of the team.
This is a role where you will be dealing with people from different backgrounds and cultures who may be living with a disability. So, it’s vital that you are genuinely understanding and non-judgmental. With your calm, capable and pragmatic demeanour, colleagues know you as an engaged leader who is customer-centric, tolerant and tactful.
