Bring the tools and grasp this opportunity to build a flagship.

Focused on delivering evidence-backed, sustainable environmental initiatives to improve the lives of people in regional communities, this membership organisation is the result of a strategic merger. The fusion of three entities, each aiming for better environmental management, has unlocked an immense body of historic, natural and scientific knowledge. And that of itself, promises a better environmental future for regional communities – and beyond.

A unique challenge for an exceptional leader… this very visible, influential and vital role presents a rare opportunity to change the future.

For you. For regional/rural communities in Queensland. For Australia. And ultimately, the world.

As is common to mergers, there is still work to do, so this powerful peak body can reach its potential, united in vision and voice. Ongoing development and engagement with memberships held by land managers, community groups, First Nations people, industry groups, developers and others, will be essential to the success of this role. As will nurturing existing relationships and developing new relationships with local, state and federal governments. And that’s just the beginning …

With the scope to identify resources, explore complex issues of bio-diversity and security, to create strong new networks right across the land, advocate, drive change, exploit technology and implement the latest scientific advances – and a great deal more – this environmental hub will have the power to transform lives and how they impact our planet.

Clearly, it’s a big, busy, immersive and extremely complex role awaiting a highly qualified, high-energy, ‘super powered’ leader. So, if your passion is the environment; changing the status quo is what drives you, you have suitable qualifications and CEO experience, and are free to travel the length and breadth of Queensland, here is a career crowning opportunity you need to explore.

As a hands-on CEO, you’ll need to bring commercial wisdom, a thorough understanding of environmental sustainability, financial acumen and a record for leading discussion around environmental impact.

Developing teams, interacting with a supportive Board, advocacy, change management, an understanding of country life, the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done, an unflappable nature and a good understanding of how an efficient & effective membership organisation works are all required attributes. There are many others you may care to discuss with your Windsor Group Consultant.

Further attributes that will add gloss to your application are a great network across business and government, tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Natural Resource Management, Environment, Science or Economics and (ideally) AICD credentials.

This is a once-in-a-career role…
Big, bold, complex, people-centric and extremely collaborative. It’s clearly not for the shy or faint hearted. But it will be extremely rewarding to a seasoned CEO with strong leadership skills, great commercial acumen and a lasting passion for influencing sustainable environmental practices.
