CASE MANAGER – Financial Resilience

The role: 

This is a meaningful role for Case Workers or experienced Support Worker who have worked with budgeting with their clients. If you are passionate about community support, then this is the role for you! As a Financial Resilience Worker, you will support individuals and families experiencing financial stress and hardship. This role will provide guidance and practical assistance to help service users build financial resilience, access material aid, and navigate available support services. 

This role does not involve financial counselling, legal advice, or handling complex financial matters 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Preparing applications for financial assistance, including No Interest Loans (NILS). 
  • Connecting individuals to Financial Counsellors, legal services, and other relevant support networks. 
  • Referring clients to specialist services for issues such as mental health, homelessness, and domestic & family violence. 
  • Provide financial conversations ranging from early intervention to crisis support. Assess individual circumstances and equip service users with tools to manage their finances. 
  • Deliver financial literacy education through budgeting support, resilience-building strategies, and group training sessions. 
  • Assist in accessing grants and financial relief, including utility and rental support. 
  • Facilitate referrals and service connections, ensuring individuals can access emergency relief, community organizations, food banks, and other essential services. 

A successful candidate will need to demonstrate: 

  • Diploma (or higher) in Community Services or equivalent experience. 
  • Blue Card required 

Completion of: 

  • CHCFLE301A – Work with clients needing financial literacy education 
  • CHCFLE302A – Educate clients in fundamental financial literacy skills 
  • CHCFLE303A – Educate clients to understand debt and consumer credit
